Who is Augmenting Ability? Augmenting Ability is a private music therapy practice established to assist clients in reaching their fullest potential through music therapy experiences. The practice, established by Melissa A. Ward, MT-BC in October 2007, serves individuals in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. What is Music Therapy?

The American Music Therapy Association defines “Music Therapy [as] an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy improves the quality of life for persons who are well and meets the needs of children and adults with disabilities or illnesses. 	People of all abilities and all ages who enjoy music can benefit from music therapy. Music is a very motivating force in our lives and is therefore a powerful medium for therapy.
